About

Every piece tells a story of dedication, and mine began when I was 12 years old in my family's workshop.
What started as a fascination with transforming raw wood into something beautiful has evolved into an obsession with perfection. For over a decade, I've been honing my craft—not just learning techniques, but developing an intuitive understanding of how wood wants to move, how grain patterns tell their stories, and how Canadian hardwood can be shaped into functional art.
When I founded Designed by Taylor in December 2021, it wasn't just about starting another woodworking business. It was about creating solutions for people who refuse to compromise on quality. I watched too many beautiful homes suffer with mass-produced items that looked cheap, broke easily, or simply weren't designed for real life.
That's why every piece we create—from our signature plant-optimized shelves to our spa-worthy bath caddies—is engineered for people who demand more. Whether it's our hexagon shelves with their precise 9.25" depth for serious plant collections, or our bath caddies crafted to handle the humidity and daily use of a real bathroom, each design solves a specific problem that mass production ignores.
Since our launch, we've helped thousands transform their spaces with pieces they're proud to display and built to last. Each item is handcrafted in small batches using premium Canadian hardwood, ensuring the kind of attention to detail that factory production simply can't deliver.
This isn't furniture for everyone. It's for people who understand that quality costs more upfront but saves money—and frustration—in the long run. People who recognize that the right piece isn't an expense, it's an investment in creating a home that reflects their standards.
Your space deserves better than generic solutions. It deserves pieces designed with intention, crafted with pride, and built to become part of your story for years to come.
